Pit Bulls Are Not Pets?
March 6th, 2007Make no mistake about it, Pit bulls are not pets. Whoever wants to can fool themselves and call those animals pets, but they are not and never will be.
Pit bulls are traditionally bred to be vicious fighters and they have been known to maul, to maim and to kill.
This was the editorial in a recent newspaper that I read. It made me think about Pit Bulls and there reputation. I like most of you have seen the articles about Pit Bulls attacking other animals as well as attacking humans. In some cases even killing humans. But it also made me wonder is this behavior in every Pit Bull? Is it the behavior of a mistreated dog? Would mistreated dogs of most big breads react in the same way?
Please give me your opinions by commenting on this post. I would like to think it is not just a problem with that breed, but the handling and treatment of this bread causes the issues.

March 1st, 2007An upstate New York man can thank his pet cat for alerting him to a house fire as his dog snoozed nearby.
The cat is being credited with waking up Edward Rooney after a fire started in his North Norwich home.
Fire officials say Rooney was asleep on a living room couch Tuesday morning when the frisky cat awoke him. Rooney discovered the fire in a bedroom and called the fire department. He was treated for smoke inhalation; the pets weren’t hurt.
Investigators say the blaze was caused by an electrical malfunction in a VCR.
